Apsley House (No. 1 London)

Restoration of corner capital.

Approx 1200mm high

On-site drawings, measurements and models were made from the original badly weathered capitals, these were taken to the studio where this information was used to create new stone replacements. Back on-site slots were cut into the existing capital to act as keys to receive the new carvings. When the new carvings were completed they were then taken to the site and installed, further carving then completed the restoration.
